Job Description
|
The Python Engineer is responsible for the technical details of Editorial interfacing with all departments in Production and provides support for toolsets developed by Post Technology.
Responsibilities:
- Define and provide support for editorial pipelines and Post Technology processes across both studio locations
- Work with other departmental engineers to advance direction and technology of editorial workflow
- Support existing software pipeline infrastructure, deployment, and support of proprietary tools.
- Work with other departments to determine structure of technical process for editorial/deliveries pipeline and integration
- Interface with editorial and production artists to determine needs and prioritize against studio initiatives.
- Interface with Marketing/PR on projects that require editorial-related tasks
- Work with Production Management & Technical Production staff on deliverables (i.e. digital cinema, film) and other tape & file formats
Required:
- Experience with CG Animation
- Proficiency in Linux or Unix, as well as Windows
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time-management skills
- Team-oriented player
- Strong communication, both written & oral
- Strong listening skills
- Customer Service oriented attitude
- Familiarity with current trends in Post Production Technology
- Proficient in Perl
Preferred:
- Proficient in Python.
- Working knowledge of Avid Non-Linear Editing Systems
- Knowledge of editorial software/hardware engineering
- Post production experience
- Familiarity with Hi-Definition and Standard Definition broadcast formats
Considered a Plus:
- Knowledge of video and disk array hardware
- Knowledge, proficiency in C, C++
- Knowledge of CVS, Make, and the standard UNIX build tools
- Software debugging experience
- Knowledge of video codecs & streaming video techniques
