Our industry leading customer is looking for a strong Python Developer with demonstrable critical thinking ability and a proven track record in building robust, scalable, consumer-driven web applications. Initial responsibilities include building a more scalable platform, based on an MVC paradigm using Python. We're looking for someone who is a self-starter with a creative mindset, willing to work closely with and share responsibility with the technical project manager to deliver the site within 2 months. Duties will include (but not be limited too):
Work with the technical project manager to define a user interface that's optimized for performance and a scalable technical architecture.
Define and build web application on a solid, robust, scalable development platform, including:
Define the architecture necessary to support and deliver content to millions of visitors across the US
Optimize the data schema to facilitate the information and process needs of millions of visitors across the US
Development Responsibilities:
Innovation, development and support for local and national initiatives
Collaborate with team members and develop innovative solutions to meet the growing needs of the business, its partners, and the site's users.
Analyze and contribute growth opportunities to the management team, based on the site's architecture and potential links with complementary partners.
Skills & Experience:
2+ years demonstrated experience designing and building web applications with Python
Experience designing and building n-tiered applications in a distributed, clustered or mirrored environment
Experience building sites for mobile device access
Ability to consistently communicate functional specifications, limitations and opportunities to technical colleagues, non-technical business partners and team members on a regular basis.
Ability to investigate and monitor emerging technologies and integrate as needed into an evolving web application
Extra plus (not required): Experience designing and building a scalable web network architecture and infrastructure.
