Job Description
|
he selected Developer will be responsible for the maintenance, design, implementation, automation and documentation of internal development tools that ensure source code integrity, effective development code management practices, and reliable delivery of incremental builds as well as complete, packaged software deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Maintain, develop, and document internal development tools and processes;
· Manage version control systems used in development;
· Automate and monitor nightly builds;
· Enhance automated regression tests and incorporate into the nightly builds;
· Develop/Enhance installation programs and scripts;
· Assist with product integration test;
· Prepare packaging/media for release and escrow;
· Document established process, policies and procedures.
Technical Qualifications
· 3+ years experience in software configuration management, working in a multi-platform, multi-release, distributed development environment;
· Proven software build/test/automation skills on Windows and Unix, including Unix makefiles;
· Great organization, attention to detail, and verbal/written communication skills along with the ability to work well with others.
Essential Requirements:
· Ruby and/or related technologies (Gems, Rake, Rails, etc.);
· Object Oriented Design
· Unit tests and specs (TDD/BDD)
· Multi-platform UNIX (Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, etc.) ; platform-specific compilers
· Understanding and experience with building open source tools (gcc, ruby, openssl, etc.)
· Open source repositories (sourceforge.net, rubyforge.org, etc.) as well as other repository systems such as StarTeam, CVS, Perforce, etc. knowledge and experience;
· Experience in the use and automation/scripting of Subversion.
